Family Roots

We come from the same roots,
we carry the same blood.

This connects us together,
what holds us together is love.

We are Family

Family is created by God, he designed it at the beginning of creation when he said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and two will become one flesh?" -Matthew 19:5 "God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it." Genesis 1:28

Family is important to God, and many families understand the importance of staying connected.

The Butts family understands the importance of staying connected.  While other families have allowed family reunions to stop, the Butts family reunions are still going strong.

Thomas and Bess Butts
Thomas and Bess Butts married and had 13 children.  Each year the 13 children and their families take turns planning and managing the reunion, or just their families if the children are deceased.

Most families meet together one day, this family meets together all week.  They set up their campers and spend each day cooking, playing, praying and having devotions, and singing together.

The Butts are talented with many gifts, especially the gift of singing.

We can't forget about the food

I had never experienced a family reunion like this one until I married into it.
The first time I attended it I was hooked.  It's wonderful to be able to take time to spend with the ones you love....stay connected to your roots.
